Most days, Sara’s inquisitive nature makes her seem distracted. At first neither parent can see beyond Sara’s dreamy facade. Caught up in their own daily struggles in Depression-era Winnipeg, Sara’s Momma and Poppa can’t always stop to answer. However Sara’s courage and resourcefulness come to the rescue in real life as well as in her imagination when she helps both her mother and father out of difficult situations.
