There’s a new award in town: the $10,000 Al & Eurithe Purdy Poetry Prize honours the most outstanding new poetry book published in Canada in 2024 by an established poet with five or more traditionally published poetry books.
Rhea Tregebov’s 2024 poetry collection, Talking to Strangers, published by Vehicule Press, is among the 10 long-listed books.
The shortlist will be released on March 31, 2025, and the winner announced on April 21, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Al Purdy’s passing.
The ten books chosen for the longlist were selected by a jury panel comprised of Laisha Rosnau, Sam Solecki and Sid Marty, the inaugural prize winner in 2024.
